After all of the 22 WA Horizons Communities complete their Visioning/Strategic Planning - the last one is scheduled for Dec 1 - the use of the community blogs will become a High Priority.
There has been several blog workshops for communities where the community members who were the keeper of the blogs have changed/moved/gotten a job/etc. To allow for the planning sessions and the retrainings, the awards have been delayed.
During January the Vision/Strategic Plans for each of the communities need to be posted on the community blogs. Then through June, the blogs must keep the community informed of the Horizons' activities being done.
For the first blog awards, each of the community's Horizons Blog pages will be printed out on January 31, 2008, and used to select the winners of the 6 categories: Horizons Blog with Best Use of Videos, Horizons Blog with Best Use of Photos, Horizons Blog with Most Informative Posts, Horizons Blog with Most Useful Links, Horizons Blog with Most Informative SideBar, and Best Overall Horizons Blog.
